8.7.13

Good morning Phoenix! Did you have a good time at the party last night? I know I did. Stay tuned - more to come. If you haven't signed up for Kade's scavenger hunt, what are you waiting for? Head on over to his page and sign up.
On to the trivia:
On this day in:
1789: Congress established the U.S. War Department.
1947: The wooden raft Kon-Tiki, which carried Thor Heyerdahl and five companions more than 4,000 miles, crashed into a reef in the Pacific.
1987: Lynne Cox becomes the first person to swim from the United States to the Soviet Union, making the 2.7 mile trip through the frigid waters of the Bering Strait. Cox is surprised by the (relatively) warm welcome she receives from the Soviets.
More strange laws:
Alabama: You may not have an ice cream cone in your back pocket at any time.
Oregon: Drivers may not pump their own gas.
New Hampshire: You may not tap your feet, nod your head, or in any way keep time to the music in a tavern, restaurant, or cafe.
Have a fantastic Midnight Breed Day!
 Brock
