Good morning Phoenix! It's Thirsty Thursday! Here's some history trivia for you.
On this day in:
64 AD: A great fire began that ultimately destroyed most of Rome. The emperor Nero blamed it on Christians and began the first Roman persecution of them.
1947: President Harry S. Truman signed the Presidential Succession Act.
1976: 14-year-old Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci earned the first perfect score, a ten, at the Olympics and went on to score six more tens and win three gold medals.
In honor of Thirsty Thursday, here's some wacky laws that pertain to beverages:
In Ames, Iowa, a husband may not take more than three gulps of beer while lying in bed with his wife.
In Hazelton, Pennsylvania, there is a law on the books that prohibits a person from sipping a carbonated drink while lecturing students in a school auditorium.
It's legal to walk down the street with a drink in New Orleans, even to drive with a drink. But if you fall over and block the sidewalk, you've just broken the law.
Hope you enjoy these tidbits, and have a fantastic Midnight Breed day!
