Good morning Phoenix! It’s time for some Friday Flicks! This movie is kind of in keeping with this week’s theme of “Between The Sheets”. It has something for everyone – action for the guys, and Alexander Skarsgard half-naked for the women. The movie is “The Legend of Tarzan”.

Plot: Living in England with the woman he fell in love with and married, Jane Porter, John Clayton (Tarzan) is asked by the Belgian King Leopold to go to Africa to see what has been done there to help the country. He refuses at first, but an American, George Washington Williams, wants him to accept so that he can accompany him. He wants to prove his theory that Leopold is committing atrocities to achieve his goals. Tarzan agrees and Jane insists that she accompany him. They are captured in the village they are staying in. Tarzan escapes with Williams’ help, and sets out to rescue Jane.

Trivia:
• Alexander Skarsgård said one of the main reasons he took this role was to impress his father. He said, "My dad is a massive Tarzan fan. Growing up, we had these VHS cassettes of the Johnny Weissmuller films and that was my introduction to the character. But those films are seventy years old and so much time has passed that I think mine is a fresh take. I'll never compete with Johnny Weissmuller, but I just wanted to impress my father. He was thrilled; he was more excited than I was."
• David Yates asked Margot Robbie to punch Alexander Skarsgård while directing their sex scene. He said, "It is an earthy moment of her enjoying sex with Alex. So I told her just slap Alex while you're making love. Give him a punch." Skarsgård said, "David wanted it to be primal and animalistic, so he egged us on. When you first meet them, they are very civilized and buttoned up. But the first sex scene is when they go back to the jungle." Robbie added, "We definitely got caught up in the moment."
• Alexander Skarsgård's first cheat meal occurred more than five months into his training. Skarsgård had been on a very strict diet for five straight months, avoiding any fat completely, as he was in the process of developing an eight-pack. He said, "It was a Sunday and we were training hard in the gym and my trainer saw that my will to live was fading. He told me to put down the weights and he took me to lunch. That day he let me order whatever I wanted. I got to eat pizza, pasta, tiramisu. I get emotional just talking about that day." On the last day of filming, the crew congratulated him on the end of his diet by gifting him with a huge "Banoffee Pie," a British dessert. Skarsgård said that to celebrate, he ate the entire pie by himself in a single sitting.
• Alexander Skarsgård said his biggest fear in taking on the role was that his little brother, who was 7 years old, would think that Skarsgård "is a shit Tarzan." Skarsgård said his little brother looks up to Tarzan as "his ultimate hero," and he did not want to let his little brother down.
• In the scene where Jane and Captain Rom are eating dinner, she crosses her fork and knife. The Captain rings the bell and tells the servant Lady Clayton is finished. After she leaves, he places her knife and fork beside each other. In formal dining, when people cross their silverware, it means they did not enjoy the meal. When they are placed next to each other, it means they are finished.

Goofs:
• The fastening system used to attach the railroad tracks to the ties are ones used in modern Europe on concrete ties. It's more likely that simple spikes driven in wooden ties would have been used in the latter part of the 19th century in Africa.
• When the crocodiles approach the sinking ship and one of them bites Leon Rom, it immediately does the infamous "crocodile death roll". At the tail end of the first croc that devours Leon Rom, a trailing 2nd croc can be seen simultaneously doing the same death roll. Unless the doctor is 20 feet tall why is the 2nd croc death rolling?

Good morning Phoenix! It's Tuesday Tips time. This week's theme is Between The Sheets.

We all like nice cool sheets in the summer. Silk sheets are awesome. However, they can be awkward - anyone ever have the sheets slide off the bed? Well, there's a way to fix that. There's clips and bands you can buy that clip the silk sheets to the mattress so that they'll stay put. Now, I can't say that if there's a lot of action (if you get my drift) that they'll stay in place, but I'm sure it will be just fine for sleeping.

Have a fangtastic Tuesday my friends! <3 Brock V"""V

Good morning Phoenix!  It’s finally Friday, so it’s time once again for an edition of Friday Flicks.

Today’s choice opens in theaters today – the remake of Ghostbusters.  Let’s see if it is as good as the original.

Plot:  Following a ghost invasion of Manhattan, paranormal enthusiasts Erin Gilbert and Abby Yates, nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann, and subway worker Patty Tolan band together to stop the otherworldly threat.

Trivia:
·         The movie is dedicated to Harold Ramis, as mentioned in the final credits.
·         Even though the movie is set like the original in New York City, most of the filming of the movie is being done on locations in and around Boston. These locations include Chinatown in Boston, Easton and the old Southfield Airbase in Weymouth Massachusetts. The set at Southfield was set out as a NY city street complete with street lights, lots of green screens and the focal point being a two story structure with a office building feel to it.
·         In an interview with 'Den of Geek', Paul Feig revealed that the first cut of the movie was 4 hours and 15 minutes long.
·         Original cast members - Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, Sigourney Weaver and even Harold Ramis all have cameos in the movie. Early on in the movie a female version of Ramis can be seen in the form of a bronze bust in the hallway outside Kristen Wiig's office. Aykroyd confirmed a cameo appearance on his Facebook and Twitter pages, although the post was later deleted. Hudson and Weaver's cameos were confirmed by director Paul Feig on Twitter, after the first two cameos leaked to the press. Rick Moranis was also offered a chance to cameo, but declined.
·         Harold Ramis 'appears' in 'cameo' as a bronze bust outside Erin Gilbert's office.

Goofs:
·         If you look closely, when they show the second shot of the outside of the Chinese restaurant/Ghostbusters base of operation, you can see the Ecto in the garage...this is before they even got the car from Patty.

Only one goof has been reported so far – if you go to see it and find other goofs, let us know.

Have a fangtastic Friday, and get sweaty! <3 Brock V"""V

BB 7/8/16

Good morning Phoenix and welcome to the weekend! Since it’s Friday, and cause I love ya, how about an edition of Friday Flicks?
The Purge: Election Year is in theaters now. How appropriate that it is being released in a rather contentious election year. Anyway, here’s the deets:
Plot:
It's been two years since Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn...or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.

Trivia:
• The film takes place in March 2025.
• Takes place two years after the events of The Purge: Anarchy (2014).
• Was originally intended to be a prequel, telling the story of the very first Purge. This idea was scrapped when Frank Grillo accepted James DeMonaco's offer to reprise the character of Sergeant Leo Barnes.
• The first Purge film to be a direct story sequel, as it continues exploring the life of Frank Grillo's Sergeant Leo Barnes.
• Edwin Hodge is the only actor to have appeared in all three Purge installments.
Goofs:
• During the debate scene, the presidential candidates' dialogue is off-sync with what they're actually saying during long shots.
• The Purge: Anarchy, set in 2023, states the annual purge started six years prior, in 2017. The Purge: Election Year is set two years after The Purge: Anarchy, in 2025, but states Senator Roan's family was killed on Purge Night eighteen years prior, which would be 2007.
• When the scene that takes place in the deli after the purge begins happens, the cash register clearly displays a message saying "Good Afternoon" when in fact it is in the very early morning hours.
• In the scene when the two angry girls return with the two cars wrapped in Christmas lights, after they are hit by the medical van you clearly see her boots fly off. But after in the next scene that shows the girls on the ground they both have their boots on all over again.
• When Minister Edwidge Owens is beginning to give the sermon at the church towards the end of the film, the first word or two of his speech are unsynchronized (delayed) with the movement of his lips.
Have you seen this one yet? If so, give us your review in the comments! As for me, I’m going to binge watch The Purge and The Purge: Anarchy to get ready to see this one. If I can’t get Jenna to go with me, I know I can get some of the brothers to go with me – Kade, Aric, Niko, Rafe – you up for it? *grins*
