7.31.13

Happy Wicked Wednesday Phoenix! Hope everyone's day is going well. Here's some trivia for today:
On this day in:
1498: Columbus arrived at the island of Trinidad.
1790: The first U.S. patent was issued to Samuel Hopkins of Vermont for a process of making fertilizer.
1964: The U.S. space probe Ranger 7 transmitted pictures of the Moon’s surface.
Strange laws: In honor of Kade's giraffe and possible monkey.... they all concern animals.
Kansas law prohibits shooting rabbits from a motorboat.
It is illegal to a wake a bear for the purpose of photography in Alaska. (Did you ever have to arrest someone for that Jenna? LOL) Excuse me Yogi and Boo Boo - would you mind waking up for a picture? LMAO!
Monkeys are forbidden from smoke cigarettes in South Bend, Indiana. (Remember that when you visit there Kade!)
Have a great Midnight Breed day!

7.30.13

Good morning Phoenix! I trust you all survived your Monday. We're one day closer to the weekend.
On this day in history:
1729: The U.S. city of Baltimore was founded.
1945: The USS Indianapolis was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine and sank within 15 minutes. It was one of the greatest naval losses of World War II, resulting in the deaths of nearly 900 men.
1975: Former Teamsters union president James Hoffa was reported missing. Many suspect he was murdered, though his remains have never been found. (I'm sure Kade probably had something to do with it - smothering him with chocolate pudding or something like that...)
Strange laws:
The owner of every hotel in Hastings, Nebraska, is required to provide each guest with a clean and pressed nightshirt. No couple, even if they are married, may sleep together in the nude, nor may they have sex unless they are wearing one of these clean, white cotton nightshirts.
An ordinance in Newcastle, Wyoming, specifically bans couples from having sex while standing inside a store's walk-in meat freezer.
A state law in Illinois mandates that all bachelors should be called master, not mister, when addressed by their female counterparts.

And one extra one - just for Kade : In Atlanta, Georgia, it is illegal to tie a giraffe to a telephone pole or street lamp.
Have a fantastic Midnight Breed day - and don't forget to hug someone you love!

7.29.13

Good morning Phoenix! Happy Monday - hope it is a good start to your week. Now, on to some trivia.
On this date in history:
1890: Artist Vincent van Gogh died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Auvers, France.
1958: President Eisenhower signed the congressional act that created the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was authorized by Congress.
1981: Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, married Lady Diana Spencer.
Strange laws:
In Norfolk, Virginia, a woman can't go out without wearing a corset. (There was a civil-service job—for men only—called a corset inspector.)
and on the flip side:
In Merryville, Missouri, women are prohibited from wearing corsets because "the privilege of admiring the curvaceous, unencumbered body of a young woman should not be denied to the normal, red-blooded American male." (Yeah, buddy!!)
It's safe to make love while parked in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Police officers aren't allowed to walk up and knock on the window. Any suspicious officer who thinks that sex is taking place must drive up from behind, honk his horn three times and wait approximately two minutes before getting out of his car to investigate.
And there you have it! Have a fantastic Midnight Breed day everyone!
