TGIF Phoenix! It’s time once again for Friday Flicks! On our countdown to Halloween, here’s another horror flick to consider – Rob Zombie’s 31. If you are scared of clowns, you won’t want to watch it.
Plot: Five carnival workers are kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned, Hell-like compound where they are forced to participate in a violent game, the goal of which is to survive twelve hours against a gang of sadistic clowns.
Trivia:
• Rob Zombie called this his "most brutal film [to date]."
• This movie had to be cut three times in order to obtain an R rating from the MPAA.
• Rob Zombie said the reason he set this movie on Halloween was because he read a statistic which stated that more people go missing on Halloween in the U.S. than any other day, and he thought it would make an interesting premise for a film.
• Some of the fans who helped fund the movie have roles as Murderworld goons. This was Rob Zombie’s first crowdfunded film.
• Nosferatu (1922), one of Rob Zombie's favorite horror movies, can be seen playing in one scene.
Goofs:
• When announcing the casting of Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Rob Zombie announced him as being "the manager of a traveling roadshow known as The Venus Lux Happy Time Fun Show". Later, when announcing Jeff Daniel Phillips, Zombie called him "the ass-kicking carney mechanic of Venus Virgo's traveling show", inexplicably changing the show-within-a-film's-title. Zombie has not addressed this apparent memory slip.
This movie stars Sheri Moon Zombie (Rob Zombie’s wife), Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, and Malcolm McDowell.
This might be one that we get the guys together to watch. I’m sure the Breedmates aren’t going to want anything to do with it!
Have a fangtastic Friday! <3 Brock V"""V

Good morning Phoenix! We have finally made it to Friday…. Whew!! To continue the horror theme on the countdown to Halloween, today’s selection for Friday Flicks sounds like a good one: Don’t Breathe. It was released in theaters on August 26, so likely still appearing in some theaters. It has good ratings by viewers. So let’s check it out, shall we? (insert evil laugh here)

Plot: Three Detroit thieves look to rob a blind man's house with a major cash settlement so the main character, Rocky, can move to California forever. Little do they know of the blind man's capabilities and hidden secret within the home, as they must find a way out of the house alive, in the dark.

Trivia:
• Stephen Lang (the blind man) wore contact lenses that greatly restricted his vision, particularly in low light. The other actors, in the scene taking place in the dark, wore lenses that made them look like they had dilated pupils but also greatly restricted their vision.
• The street where the old man lives is called "Buena Vista." In Spanish? this translates to "Good Sight." The old man is blind.
• The combination to the Blind Man's safe, 2978, is actually director Fede Alvarez's birthday - Feb. 9, 1978
• Throughout the movie you can see areas in the house where crosses used to be but have been taken down. Later in the film The Blind Man states that men can do anything once they've accepted there is no god.
• The character of Rocky was featured on PopSugar's list of 18 "Final Girl" Halloween Costumes Only Badasses Can Pull Off ranking at number 4

Goofs:
• Money makes a big deal out of shooting the lock off of a locked door with his "chrome"...the screws holding the door closed are all exposed...meaning, you take a screw driver and remove them. No noise of the gun and you are in....Hollywood drama.
• While inside the car, Rocky's pants do not show any hole or slit after it had been cut open by the Blind Man earlier.
• About half way through, the blind man has a large blood stain on his shirt which disappears shortly after for the rest of the movie.
• The movie is set in Michigan, but in an overhead shot a large sign advertising the New York Lottery can be seen on the side of a building.
• When the 3 are sitting in the car, Alex asks Rocky if she got a new tattoo and she said yes, a ladybug, the day before. Rocky's skin & the tattoo are perfectly smooth & clear - if the tattoo was brand new, it would likely be puffy & bloody & probably covered with a bandage.

So - have you seen this one? What did you think? Have a fangtastic Friday! <3 Brock V"""V

Good morning my wonderful people of Phoenix! It's Thursday, so let's do another top 10 list.
Here's another list of top 10 horror movies not to see alone:
• Saw – shows you more insides than outsides! Will mess with your head big time. Lots of gore. Live or die. Make your choice.
• The Thing - 1982 version with Kurt Russell. It's the first week of winter in 1982. An American Research Base is greeted by an alien force, that can assimilate anything it touches. It's up to the members to stay alive, and be sure of who is human, and who has become one of the Things. Talk about paranoia.
• Human Centipede – totally disgusting science experiment. A mad scientist kidnaps and mutilates a trio of tourists in order to reassemble them into a human centipede, created by stitching their mouths to each others' rectums.
• Alien – No one in space can hear you scream. If you watch this alone, no one will hear you scream either.
• Psycho – original version with Janet Leigh. Although Janet Leigh was not bothered by the filming of the famous shower scene, seeing it on film profoundly moved her. She later remarked that it made her realize how vulnerable a woman was in a shower. To the end of her life, she always took baths.
• Jaws – seals the deal on fear of sharks. Do you like fish? Well, he likes you too...
• Silence of the Lambs – A young F.B.I. cadet must confide in an incarcerated and manipulative psychiatrist turned cannibalistic killer to receive his help on catching another serial killer who skins his victims.
• Poltergeist – The Godfather of ghost movies. The original only, please. A young family are visited by ghosts in their home. At first the ghosts appear friendly, moving objects around the house to the amusement of everyone, then they turn nasty and start to terrorize the family before they "kidnap" the youngest daughter. “They’re heeerrreee….”
• Scream – Ghostface. Don't Answer The Phone. Don't Open The Door. Don't Try To Escape.
• Halloween – 1978 version with Jamie Lee Curtis. On Halloween night of 1963, six-year-old Michael Myers stabbed his sister to death. After sitting in a mental hospital for 15 years, Myers escapes and returns to Haddonfield to kill. The trick was to stay alive.
Happy first day of fall, and have a fangtastic day! <3 Brock V"""V

Happy TGIF Phoenix! How about a Friday Flicks? In honor of the sequel to The Blair Witch Project, which opens this weekend, let’s take a look back at the original.

Plot: Three film students travel to Maryland to make a student film about a local urban legend - The Blair Witch. The three went into the woods on a two-day hike to find the Blair Witch, and never came back. One year later, the students film and video were found in the woods. The footage was compiled and made into a movie. The Blair Witch Project.

Trivia:
• Heather Donahue's mother received sympathy cards from people who believed that her daughter was actually dead or missing.
• The directors kept in touch with actors Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams and Joshua Leonard with walkie-talkies, to ensure the three would not become lost during their trek. Reportedly, they got lost at least three times.
• It took a mere eight days to shoot this film.
• The actors were given no more than a 35-page outline of the mythology behind the plot, before shooting began. All lines were improvised and nearly all the events in the film were unknown to the three actors beforehand, and they were often on-camera surprises to them all.
• Heather Donahue mentioned to Fangoria Magazine that her first question she asked the director, upon arriving on the set, was if he was planning on making a snuff film.

Goofs:
• The film supposedly takes place in 1994, but in the supermarket, Michael displays an oatmeal and raisin flavored PowerBar. Oatmeal and raisin was not available in 1994.
• At the beginning of the movie, when Josh is getting out of the car, a 1997-2003 Ford F-Series pickup can be seen in the background.
• When Josh goes missing and the two others are calling his name, Mike is wearing a plaid shirt with a white t-shirt underneath. When they change views his t-shirt is black. When they cut back it's white again.
• In the house a red light flash (from a camera) can be seen through an open window.
• The three are lost in the woods but in one scene, about 25 feet behind them, a field can be seen through a small gap in the trees. The road is also visible as they try to find the trail.

If you’ve seen this movie, what did you think of it? Do you plan to see the sequel?
Have a fangtastic day my friends! <3 Brock V"""V

The top 10 movies you shouldn’t watch alone:
10: The Ring
9: The Babadook
8: The Blair Witch Project
7: Dawn of the Dead
6: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
5: The Shining
4: The Grudge
