BB 11/3/15

Hi everyone! Sorry I missed yesterday’s post. So much to do, so little time! *grins*

Anyway, I’ll try to make up for it today with a two-fer!

Today’s Tuesday trivia is about Dylan Alexander. As you all know, her Breedmate ability is the ability to see and hear dead Breedmates. This is a form of clairvoyancy. The ability to hear things which cannot be otherwise heard – the voices of the dead- is called clairaudience. This is different from Savannah’s talent as she divines information from the touch of objects – psychometry or clairsentience.

Nothing I can say would illustrate this more precisely than the movie, The Sixth Sense. That movie, in addition to being about a psychiatrist who didn’t realize he was dead, was also about a young boy who had the ability to see, hear, and converse with the dead.

Abilities in the realm of parapsychology such as these, are generally scoffed at by scientists, but to those that experience them, are very real. I think we would have to all agree that Dylan’s talent is quite helpful to the Breed.

As promised, here is the two-fer – a little bit of trivia and goofs about the movie The Sixth Sense.

• The voice on the tape of Vincent's session is speaking Spanish, the person is saying: "Please, I don't want to die Lord, save me, save me."
• The movie's line "I see dead people." was voted as the #44 movie quote by the American Film Institute (out of 100).
• When Cole and his mother are sitting in the kitchen, there is a glass on the table that you can only get in Philadelphia. It originally comes filled with Penn Maid sour cream which is not readily available anywhere else.
• Cole and Vincent both have a patch of grey/white hair. They are both on the right side of their heads, Vincent's to the side and Cole's behind the ear.
• M. Night Shyamalan deliberately used the color red to depict when the world of the living and the world of the dead would crossover.
• During the "I See Dead People" scene, Cole is facing Malcolm and a tear runs down his face. When Cole turns away, his face is dry with no trace of a tear.
• During the dinner scene, mic cord visible through Malcolm's shirt.
• During a class in school, you can see microphones in the roof.
• Crazy Credits: The Spanish phrase "I don't want to die" that was played on the tape recorder in Malcolm's office is repeated after the credits.

Have a fangtastic day my friends!  <3 Brock V"""V
