BB 12/29/15

Good morning Phoenix! We’re rapidly approaching New Year’s Eve, and you know what that means. Not just a lot of drinking or watching the ball drop, but making resolutions that rarely get kept. How about picking a theme for the New Year rather than a resolution?

Here’s some ideas for themes:
• Happiness is a choice
• Be present and mindful
• Express gratitude
• Pay it forward
• Follow your bliss
• Live with intention
• Healthy habits
• Keep it simple
• Shake if off
• Breathe.
• There’s always more to discover

Once you select a theme, find a way to display it in your home or office so that you can see it every day. Many people fail to follow through with resolutions simply because they’re easy to forget. And even though your theme may not necessarily be a goal, keeping your theme somewhere that you’ll see it every day will be a great reminder for you to keep it in mind as you go about your day.
Some good ways to display your theme might be framing it and hanging it on your wall, or keep it written on a whiteboard or chalkboard, or you could even go all out and get a vinyl decal printed with your theme that you can put on a wall in your home! There’s no wrong way to do it, you just want to make sure it’s in a place that you can’t ignore it.

Finally….remember themes are not set in stone. If the theme you chose is not working, feel free to change it. You should never feel constrained or limited.

What would you set as your “theme” for 2016? Do you have ideas for other themes?
