Today’s Christmas movie is an oldie – Friday after Next!
Plot:
Craig and Day Day have finally moved out of their parent’s houses and into their own crib. The cousins work nights at a local mall as security guards. When their house is robbed on Christmas Eve they team up to track him down.
Trivia:
• The toy store in the strip mall where Day-Day (Mike Epps) and Craig (Ice Cube) work, is called Toyz in the Hood which is a reference to the movie Boyz in the Hood (1991) which Ice Cube co-stared in.
• Was originally meant to be called "Final Friday", but the producers thought it too similar to Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993), and didn't want to rule out a fourth film.
• This is the only Friday movie that did not have a Scarface (1983) reference.
• Chris Tucker was asked to reprise his role for the third film in the franchise, but rejected. Mike Epps then called up asking to reprise his role less than 1 hour later.
• After being robbed, Elroy yells "I started this barbecue s*** and this is the motherf***in' thanks I get?!" This is based on a line from Ice Cube's hit rap song "Hello" that goes "I started this gangsta s*** and this is the motherf***in' thanks I get").
Goofs:
• As Moly is slapping Mr Jones in his donut shop after being introduced to the boys, he says "buddy" but his lips are not moving.
• When Pinky's limo hits "Santa", he is thrown high in the air. As he lands, he's about to fall onto the rear of the cab. In the next cut, Santa begins rolling from the front of the limo until he falls of from the rear of the car.
• At the end of the movie, when the Santa thief is running from Craig and Day-Day, he jumps over a chain fence and then runs over the roof a car to get away from them. in the next shot when Craig and Day-Day jump the fence, there is a 4x4 there and no car.
• When Money Mike is first introduced, the camera pans from his feet up to his face. When it reaches his face, crew members can be briefly seen in the reflection of his glasses.
• Money Mike's pants were off when he fainted in the bathroom. When Damon wakes Money Mike up, Mike's pants are on.
