1975: Congress restored Confederate General Robert E. Lee's US citizenship.
1990: Greg LeMond won his third Tour Dr France. A Minnesota native, LeMond was the first American to win the great French cycling race.
Strange laws:
In Nogales, AZ, it is illegal to wear suspenders.
In Atlanta, GA it is illegal to tie a giraffe to a telephone pole or street lamp.
In Logan County Colorado, it's illegal for a man to kiss a woman while she is asleep.
