7.2.14

Good orning Phoenix! Are you getting excited about the upcoming holiday weekend? We sure are here at Phoenix!
Speaking of excitement, how many of you have finished "Marked" and are totally teased by the snippet of "Crave"? No spoilers yet please! We want to make sure everyone has read it before we discuss it openly.
Independence Day Trivia:
Thomas Jefferson, one of the founding fathers of America, died exactly 50 years after the signing of the Declaration - on 4 July, 1826. In a strange coincidence, John Adams, another founding father too died on the same day as Jefferson.
Joke of the Day:
Bill Gates is hanging out with the chairman of General Motors.
"If automotive technology had kept pace with computer technology over the past few decades," boasts Gates, "you would now be driving a V-32 instead of a V-8, and it would have a top speed of 10,000 miles per hour. Or, you could have an economy car that weighs 30 pounds and gets a thousand miles to a gallon of gas. In either case, the sticker price of a new car would be less than $50."
"Sure," says the GM chairman. "But would you really want to drive a car that crashes four times a day?"
Quote of the Day:
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
Random Daily Factoid:
One car out of every 230 made was stolen last year.
Adrenaline Junkie Rush:
Bungee Jumping – with no more than straps attached around the ankles, try hurling yourself from a great height on the end of fifty feet of bungee cord. Experience the exhilaration of free fall with the added fear factor of finally coming to a halt, only feet from the ground. The elasticity of the bungee rope kicks in as it hurls you skyward from whence you came.
The great news about this activity is that you need no special skills to take part, just bravery and an adrenaline itch. A bungee jump can be set up from cranes, bridges, and even hot air balloons. Be careful though, as there is a risk of bursting blood vessels in the eyes due to the G-forces, and there may be joint pain if you have an injury.
Once again, these activities are NOT endorsed by MBPhoenix, and MBPhoenix assumes no responsibility if you decide to partake in these activities. You do so at your own risk.
And a very Happy Birthday to our own Roving Reporter, Cathy Hunter ! Hope you have a wonderful birthday sweetie!
