BB 10/11/15

Good morning Phoenix – hope you are all going to have an enjoyable Sunday!

Has anyone thought of hosting an adult Halloween party (besides Gabrielle)?

Here’s some cool ideas for themes:
• Dead Celebrities –have your guests dress as their favorite dead celebrity. Have them walk the “red carpet” to enter the party, and maybe throw in some police crime scene tape. Extra points if they add fake blood and other props to their dead celebrity of choice.
• Murder Mystery – get a murder mystery game, assign characters to your guests, and have them come in costume as that character.
• Toga party – old school, but still classic. Just be sure it doesn’t dissolve into “Animal House” type debauchery.
• Single? Assign a costume to each of your guests. For example, have one guest dress as peanut butter. Have another guest dress as jelly. The object is for each guest to find their “other half” at the party. Great way to get the guests to mingle.
• Host a “canni-ball” – have guests come dressed as zombies. Have your food for the party nestled among parts of a skeleton you can pick up at a party supply store.
• Ask your guests to come dressed as a character from their favorite Halloween movie – Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Rocky Horror Picture Show – you get the idea.

Fun things to do with drinks – freeze olives in ice cubes to look like eyeballs, and float them in the drinks, garnish with vampire teeth, or toy body parts. Freeze cranberry juice in plastic gloves, cut off the gloves, and float the hands in a punch bowl. Hollow out a large pumpkin, fill with ice and use it as a cooler for bottles of beer or hard cider.

Food – finger food is best. Or if you want something a little heartier, chili in a witch’s cauldron with a few fake skeleton bones floating in it. Make little fingers out of soft pretzels with almonds for the fingernails. Bake cupcakes, but don’t frost or decorate them. Have your guests do the work by setting out a toppings bar and see what scary decorations they can make. Again, let your imagination take over.

The sky’s the limit for your ideas. Just have fun with it. What’s your ideas?

Have a fangtastic day!
