Good morning Phoenix – it’s time once again for Trivia Tuesday!

Today, we’re going to highlight another Breedmate with a special talent. Tavia and her photographic memory.
Photographic memory, also known as eidetic memory, isn't a common thing. Only 3% of the population worldwide has it. It is when you can remember things in great detail even when it's not there. For example, if you look at a page from a book for ten seconds, you will be able to repeat it word by word.
Photographic memory also allows to repeat what someone has said in accurate speed and volume.
Some say that it is a gift to have this memory, but others disagree stating that photographic memory can also be painful because you might constantly remember things in detail that you don't want to.
Here’s some facts about photographic memory that you may not know:
• Photographic memory is very rare.
• It occurs more commonly in children than adults.
• There are different levels of photographic memory (E.g.: The different amount of words you can memorize in 30 seconds).
• There are different types of things you can remember when you have photographic memory. Here are some of them: - Images, Books, Dates, People, Numbers, Quotes.
• Music and exercising can sometimes help them recall things (It can also help people who don't have this type of memory to have better memory).
• Photographic memory can fade away when you grow up.
The good and the bad about a photographic memory:
Good:
• It takes less energy to do your daily activities. For example, when people try finding a certain object they lost, it would only take you a few seconds to remember.
• It will be very useful when you try to memorize things. While others take hours to study for a test, all you have to do is skim through the book while your brain is taking the pictures.
• At most cases, you will never get lost. Once you remember how you came to a certain place, there is no way of forgetting.
• There is a higher possibility where you will do well in your academics, where some call it the "encyclopedic knowledge "
Bad:
• When you have photographic memory, people expect you to be perfect all the time. It was actually proven that people with this memory can also make mistakes (it's just that there is a lower possibility that this will happen).
• Having photographic memories makes it hard to say goodbye to your good friend. You can also hold grudges easily since you almost have a perfect memory.
• You might remember things that you don't want to remember from the past (example: someone's death).
• When you have this type of memory, you sometimes tend to think that others remember the same thing as you. It could be a shock when you clearly remember a friend from your childhood and they don't even know your name!
Famous People with A Photographic Memory:
• Theodore Roosevelt Jr., 26th President of the US: He said that he had photographic memory by reciting articles that were very long. He was also a fast reader and would read two or three books a day.
• Kim Peek: He was the real life "Rain Man." He was able to read a page within twelve seconds. By the time he died, it was estimated that he memorized every single word in 9,000 books.
• Bill Clinton, 42nd President of the US: He was known to have near photographic memory.

Have a fangtastic day my friends!
