8.16.13

Good afternoon and TGIF Phoenix! Sorry I'm late with my daily message, but as you know, I was on a plane all night. *yawns* So here we go:
On this day in history:
1777: The Revolutionary War battle of Bennington, Vt., won by American forces.
1948: Baseball legend Babe Ruth died in New York City at age 53.
1977: Elvis Presley died at Graceland, his Memphis,Tenn., home, from heart failure at age 42.
Famous Birthdays:
James Cameron - director (1954)
Angela Bassett - actress (1958)
Madonna - pop singer and actress (1958)
Strange laws today apply to air travel - bear with me if one or two are repeats from before:
Alaska: You cannot view a moose from an airplane, nor can you push a live moose out of a moving airplane. But then, why would you want to if you can’t watch it falling?
Delaware: one cannot fly over a body of water without sufficient supplies of food and drink … do backyard pools count?
Maine: It is illegal in Maine to step out of a plane, while it is in flight.
And last, but not least:
The three worst things to hear in the cockpit:
The second officer says, "Oh shit!"
The first officer says, "I have an idea!"
The captain says, "Hey, watch this!"
Have a wonderful, fangtastic Phoenix day and enjoy your weekend!
