On to the trivia - On this day in:
1305: Scottish leader and national hero, William Wallace, was executed in London. (Those of you that saw Braveheart will know who this is)
1926: Silent film star Rudolph Valentino died in New York at age 31.
1927: Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were executed for the murders of two men during a 1920 robbery, despite worldwide protests. (The Sacco and Vanzetti murder trial is a fascinating read )

Strange laws:
White Mountain National Forest, NH: If a person is caught raking the beaches, picking up litter, hauling away trash, building a bench for the park, or many other kind things without a permit, he/she may be fined $150 for ”maintaining the national forest without a permit”.
Charlotte NC: Women must have their bodies covered by at least 16 yards of cloth at all times.
West Virginia: It is legal for a male to have sex with an animal as long as it does not exceed 40 lbs.
