6.2.14

Mornin' Phoenix! Welcome to Monday - it came back again uninvited. We're also in a brand new month, so I'm changing up my daily posts a little for June.
Since June is a traditional month for weddings, and it seems one of our brothers will be getting himself mated at the end of the month, this month's postings will be about weddings and honeymoons. Whether you are planning a wedding, or thinking about a vow renewal, some of these ideas might come in handy.
A few wedding trivia tidbits:
Saturday is the unluckiest wedding day, according to English folklore. Funny -- it's the most popular day of the week to marry!
Peas are thrown at Czech newlyweds instead of rice.
Engagement and wedding rings are worn on the fourth finger of the left hand because it was once thought that a vein in that finger led directly to the heart.
Queen Victoria started the Western world's white wedding dress trend in 1840 -- before then, brides simply wore their best dress.
Most expensive wedding ever? The marriage of Sheik Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum's son to Princess Salama in Dubai in May 1981. The price tag? $44 million. (it's possible that Kim Kardashian's recent wedding might have topped this figure….)
In many cultures around the world -- including Celtic, Hindu and Egyptian weddings -- the hands of a bride and groom are literally tied together to demonstrate the couple's commitment to each other and their new bond as a married couple (giving us the popular phrase "tying the knot").
Las Vegas is the top wedding destination with over 100,000 weddings a year, followed by Hawaii at 25,000 weddings a year.
Many brides choose theme weddings, based on books or movies that held special meaning for them. Now, if we talk about those "vampires" that sparkle, there are many ways things from those movies can be incorporated. For example, the Bride could wear a pop of color – such as blood red shoes with her dress, or carry a bouquet of dark red roses with black calla lilies. Or - even go with a red or black wedding gown.
If you want to go all out, you can rent the house that Bella and Edward spent their honeymoon in. It is the Casa em Paraty house on the coast south of Rio de Janeiro. It rents for up to $7500 per night with minimum stays of at least 2 days and up to 10 days required depending on the time of year.
And yeah, I know this stuff because Jenna made me watch the movies.....
Have a fangtastic day my friends!  Brock
Live unforgettable moments at a paradisiac beach in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro, with privacy in a stunning and comfortable place.
